JUSt about anybody could relate

Shiva was a Hindi film that released in 1990.

It was the remake of a Telugu film that released in 1989.

Ram Gopal Varma both of them.

In fact, they marked his debuts in the respective languages.

The only song from the film in my collection was Botany Chhodenge Matinee Dekhenge.

Even if one wasn’t a student of botany, he/she could relate to it if he/she ever bunked classes to watch the afternoon show of a film at the cinema.

S Janaki, Suresh Wadkar and Udit Narayan sang them.

Majrooh Sultanpuri wrote the Ilaiyaraaja composition.

(Am)It was sung by Sadhana

Spread across my blogs, the subject of this post is the fourth track from Kishen Kanhaiya, which released in 1990.

The song in question was Aap Ko Dekh Ke*.

(Am)It was the second contribution of both Mr Kumar and Sadhana Sargam – the duo who lent it their voices – to the soundtrack of the film.

Anwar Sagar wrote the song, which was composed by Rajesh Roshan.

[*Note: I did not understand why Dekh Ke (which could be translated to, “Seeing”) was followed by Dekh Dekh Ke (which could be translated to, “Observing and then following someone”).]

It wASn’t original, but outstanding

My collection contains five songs from the 1990 film Dil.

But the soundtrack of the film had another fantastic song, which I hadn’t included in my playlist earlier.

It was titled O Priyaa Priyaa, and it was six minutes and three seconds long.

Anuradha Paudwal and Suresh Wadkar sang it.

Sameer wrote the Anand-Milind composition.

The song was inspired by a Telugu song titled Oh Priya Priya!

The Ilaiyaraaja composition was from a film titled Geethanjali, which released in 1989.

Veturi wrote the song, which was sung by K S Chithra and S P Balasubrahmanyam.

Ms Paudwal was the Sing(h)er

Paranda is a Punjabi phrase which could be translated to, “A decoration for a braid tassel”.

Therefore, Kaali Teri Choti Hai Paranda Tera Laal Ni – the only song from the 1990 film Bahaar Aane Tak on this blog – could be translated to, “Your braid is black, and the decoration for your braid tassel is red”.

By no means would it be incorrect to state that it was a great track from a film that bombed at the box office.

Anuradha Paudwal shared Sing(h)ing credits with Mangal for the song.

Indeevar wrote the Rajesh Roshan composition.

This Lata-Aziz duet was underrated

While Mohammed Aziz passed away in November 2018, Lata Mangeshkar passed away in February this year.

Bali Umar Ne Mera – from the 1990 film Awaargi – was an underrated song sung by the duo.

It would not be incorrect to state that it was the perfect track to dedicate to them to pay a joint tribute to them.

If I had to list the best Anu Malik compositions before the turning point in his career, the list would be very short. But this song – which Anand Bakshi wrote – would certainly make it to the top 10.

Mazumdar’s item number was (b)lous(e)y

Women’s clothing have always inspired male songwriters in Hindi films. And Sameer Anjaan was no different. He wrote Jawaani Se Ab Jung Hone ...
